Our Mission and GoalsIn today’s results focused environment, schools are clamoring for real-time data. Nowhere is this more apparent than in urban middle schools. These schools desperately need real-time data to immediately understand student strengths and weaknesses and to fill in any gaps before students fall further and further behind. Massachusetts Public School Performance (MPSP) was founded in January 2005 to meet this targeted need. The mission of MPSP is to build the capacity of school leaders to understand and effectively use real-time data to improve instruction and increase student achievement. MPSP harnesses the energy of urban schools, individually and through a powerful peer network, to transform how assessments are used – away from serving as annual compliance mechanisms, and instead providing a powerful real-time tool to teachers and administrators. We seek to work with like-minded schools who believe in the power of assessment and real-time data to support teaching and learning. |
